
DEMOCRACIES AT RISK - BETWEEN REAL AND VIRTUAL: ECONOMIC, POLITICAL, SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERSPECTIVES
Guidelines for Article Submission:
Article submissions are defined by the UNIFACS Master's Programme in Law, Governance and Public Policy and its lines of research:
a) Public Policy and Development (Focused on Public Policy Development);
b) Governance Models and Systems in the Public and Private Sectors (Focused on Governance Models) and;
c) Law, Democracy, Transparency and Evaluation (Focused on Public Policy Evaluation), also encompassing Complementary
Themes to the main lines:

Digital Democracy and Algorithmic Governance: Considers the impacts of digital technologies on political participation, government transparency, and the regulation of algorithms and platforms.

Digital Economy, Labour, and Inequality: Analyses the effects of digitalisation on the labour market, income concentration, tax issues, and the role of big tech in the global economy.

Citizenship, Social Media, and Disinformation: Investigates how social media influences political behaviour, polarisation, and the challenges of disinformation for democracy.

Technology, Sustainability, and Environmental Justice: Explores the intersections between technological innovation, environmental impacts, and socio-environmental inequalities in the digital context.

Education, Health, Digital Inclusion, and Human Rights: Focuses on educating critical citizens, equitable access to health technologies, and protecting fundamental rights in the virtual environment.
Submissions:
The deadline for submitting files containing articles is 6 October 2025 to 6 November 2025.
Papers submitted after this date will not be evaluated.
